Mark Dinning ››
Now the Editor of Empire for four years, Mark has enjoyed many misadventures over his decade in the film industry. He has survived a pub crawl with Richard Harris, worn silly
hats with Brad Pitt and, in one of his fondest memories, interviewed Angelina Jolie in hotpants (Angelina being the one in the hotpants, thankfully for everyone concerned).
His proudest moment at the helm of the biggest movie magazine in the world was recruiting Steven Spielberg to guest edit Empire's 20th Birthday Issue – a signing that
subsequently saw him rub shoulders with everyone from Jack Nicholson to the Governer Of California (or "The Guv") en route to the biggest selling issue in the magazine's
history.
On top of that, he has overseen seven consecutive ABC rises and won Editor Of The Year the last three years running at the British Society Of Magazine Editors Awards.
Previously, he has been the Editor of Total Film magazine, has written for everything from The Times to The Face and was also Showbiz Editor on Zoo magazine – eventually
getting fired from the latter over a beer in Soho House. |
